The national team of Ukraine still has a chance to qualify for the 2024 European Championship

A week has passed since the match between Ukraine and Italy, which took place on September 12 in Milan at the San Siro stadium. During this time, a lot of reviews, articles and programs were published on this topic. And only a lazy person did not criticize our team.

An unfortunate mistake by Georgy Sudakov with the wrong boots, falling on the field and the National Team of Ukraine missed the first goal in the 12th minute, the second – in the 30th minute. But, in the 41st minute, Yarmolenko managed to reduce the gap. Almost the entire first half, the Italians controlled the ball. The Ukrainians “joined” the game only after the second missed goal.

In the 58th minute of the match, Mudryk came on as a substitute, who is always entrusted with all the responsibility and hopes for the game of our national team. In the second half, there were several attempts to break through the goal of the Italians, but, unfortunately, the Ukrainians never managed to equalize the score. We lost 2-1, but we still have a chance to win a ticket to the European Championship 2024. The team dropped from second to third place in the group table, but there are still 3 matches to go.

The match against Italy at the San Siro stadium was the fifth for Serhiy Rebrov’s team in the qualifying cycle of the 2024 European Championship. Previously, the blue-yellow team lost to England 0:2 (under the temporary leadership of Ruslan Rotany), won against North Macedonia 3:2 and Malta 1:0, and drew a 1:1 draw in the second game against England. So, on September 12, the first loss of the team under the leadership of Serhiy Rebrov took place.

The next match will be held in Prague on October 14 at 16:00 Kyiv time against the North Macedonia national team.
